Republican politicians are constantly trumpeting that they want to see government operated like a business. But, their behavior shows that such statements are nothing more than hogwash. Let’s analyze their behavior in government and see what would happen if they acted in a similar manner.

In governments, Republican politicians:

1. First cut taxes and create tax breaks for the very rich, cutting government income, and creating huge deficits.
2. Then , they blame the deficits o government programs and insist that that programs be cut, particularly those which regulate attempted exploitation of people and environment. Thereby, they attempt to limit government effectiveness so that they can say, “See, I told you that big government does not work.”
3. Then, they blame government workers and agency managers for the deceased effectiveness.

f such behavior were duplicated in operating a business, it would look like this:

1. Businesses would greatly decrease their income by greatly decreasing the costs of their goods and services to their richest clients, plunging the company deeply in debt.
2. Those businesses would then try to cut operating the production expenses, risking a drastic decrease in their goods and services. They would result in a huge loss of customers, ergo income.
3. 3. They would then blame workers and division managers for the debacle.
      If any business were operated in such a manner, it would be a certain recipe for absurdly stupid disaster for the company.

I do not blame most Republican voters for such deliberate stupidity. I simply do not think that they have thought seriously about the issue. I do blame the right-wing extremist demagogues and anarchistic libertarians. They show that their intent is to cripple and ruin our 260+ years of attempted constitutional democracy. What those elements seek is to create a tyrannical oligarchic form of government like that of Russia under Putin. The sole function of such a government would be national defense and law and order for the privileged. We CANNOT let that happen.
