In 2006, billionaire Warren Buffet said “There’s class warfare, all right, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”

Now, 17 years down the road, we can state that this war has won, but not by the class of the super-rich, but by what Michael Lind in his book "The new Class War" called the "managerial-professional class". The point is that socialists like me, when we are looking for our "class enemy" usually point to the famous top 1%, whereas the true enemy of ordinary people is this managerial-professional class which makes up about 10% of the population. It is them, not the handful of billionaires like Buffett, who are pulling the strings and occupying all positions of economic and cultural power.

Recently, some of them have gained in strength - and above all they acquired immunity from criticism from below! - by allying themselves with the cultural left, the "social justice" Left, creating in the process a strange hybrid called "woke capitalism".

Yes, this class war is over and ordinary people ("les classes populaires" as we call them in France) have lost. But the main culprit for this defeat is not the group of the rich, or the political right ("neo-liberalism" ), but the betrayal of those you call themselves "liberals". Thomas Frank described the history of this betrayal in his book "Listen, Liberal". We should never forget that when we bemoan the situation of the working class .

Dems have been, by far, the better Party since LBJ got rid of the racists. Then we found out that we're all racists, and this can't be helped, so they were even the better Party before 1968. Ideal wise, of course, so they were our only hope. I went with them and have been POTUS Joe's most vocal supporter. I love the man but voted for Bernie. I've been proven wrong and couldn't be happier. If they can't pull power out of where we are now then they were just a failed hope. It happens.

Suit yourself, with all due respect, so far Biden has, in my mind, proven me totally right about him being a corporate, war-mongering sellout, who continues to betray the working class, side against unions, and drive most middle and lower class Americans into the arms of the Repubs. And by doing so, as well as running again for prez, he will most likely lead the party into defeat in two years, where he will be running against DeSantis or someone else just as evil and smart that is the Repub nominee, and that will result in total control in DC by the Repubs, if we don't have an insurrection before then that brings the same result in favor of the Repubs.

And all the while, the DNC will sit by, behind the scenes, totally happy with either outcome, since for them, all that matters is keeping progressive candidates from ever becoming prez or having any real power in the Dem Party or in DC.

I am a proud socialist, and the professional managerial class are what socialists like me call the coordinator class, as they do the work of the 1% in managing the rabble, feeding them propaganda, shaping opinions, etc., and most importantly, distracting them and keeping them focused on issues irrelevant to the class war, like PC, culture war stuff, and identity politics, while all the while, these members of the coordinator class hide behind the political label of liberal. I know, I've seen many of them up close and personal at Unitarian churches. They talk a good game of being social justice warriors, etc, but when you scratch them deep enough, you find that they are just as materialistic, greedy, selfish, and classist as any conservative or Repub when it comes to issues of class and income inequality. They are fine with the status quo, as it serves them well, and they don't want to give an inch on their comfy spot in the top 10% class economically.
