Seriously, I don't need that. Contact me when there's a reason, constant little nothings that require responses every time would drive me nuts pretty quickly, and send me packing.

My new girlfriend sends me messages during the day while she is working, but I don't find them boring and she does it because she wants me to know she is thinking of me and that I am important to her.

Interesting. But is their texting due to infatuation with you or desperation at being lonely?

Doesn't have to be a romantic interest. A good friend maintaining a connection and interest can be just as rewarding.
