Who will the Democrats blame this on. We know nothing is ever their fault.

It was all down to this weird system called "capitalism". I don't know if you have it in America but it relies on things like "market forces" and "competition". The idea is that good well-run businesses thrive whilst badly run enterprises fail. The problem with banks is that they hold people's paychecks and mortgages and whilst it may be sad when your local deli closes, your bank going down can be catastrophic. Considering that most of the money banks lend does not actually exist. (yeah I did say it was a weird system) It is surprising that it doesn't happen more often. The reason why is that governments who like to protect their citizens from catastrophes institute regulations restricting excessive risk that banks can expose themselves to. This idea is called "democratic socialism". Where the govt interferes with businesses to stop them from behaving like a shmuck.
Now, this leads us to two conflicting chains of thought. On one hand, you have "the free market generates all the wealth. so the market should be kept free" and on the other "you are free to do what you want but not if it can harm others, which reckless banking can do". So a compromise is made, the fed will guarantee depositors money but the banks have to play nice. Now how many regulations, how stringent they are and how vigorously they are enforced are subject to who is in govt and who last set the rules. By and large, the GOP favours fewer regs whilst the Dems stiffen them up but only after bad shit has happened.
So may I ask if you are so concerned about this, will you be siding with social democratic ideology in future and away from mainstream GOP dogma by advocating for stiffer regulations inc. EPA?
