I would not recommend the British model. The UK is the outlier in this respect, and it functions there because they know how to deal with it, how to muddle through. In other countries we need some sort of legal operating system

Inflexible interpretation sounds like that applied to a religious book.
Works well for the first couple of hundred years after being written, but then becomes more and more outdated and out of step with an evolving society.
