"Deadly Conduct"? This should be attempted murder.
What platitude will the NRA have this time?

Two high school cheerleaders were shot after one of them apparently approached the wrong vehicle in a car park near Austin, Texas.
One of the athletes, Payton Washington, 18, remains in hospital in a critical condition, according to family. The other victim was treated at the scene.
Commenting on the incident, their cheer company called the shooting at 00:15 local time (05:15 GMT) on Tuesday "horrific".

Police charged Pedro Tello Rodriguez Jr, 25, with "deadly conduct".

The shooting happened outside a supermarket in Elgin, about 25 miles from Austin.
Elgin police said: "Information suggests that an altercation occurred in the parking lot, and multiple shots were fired into a vehicle."

Today’s crime report for Spain: [thelocal.es]

What? No mass shootings?

@Petter Do you still have automatic-rifle-carrying police officers walking the streets of your big cities? When I was there, I thought it was a great deterrent to crime.

@MsKathleen No. They are also in small towns. It is standard practice for ALL police to be armed.

@Petter Looks like it’s working. “No mass shootings.”

@MsKathleen Only because assault weapons are reserved for the state's forces.

@Petter As it should be in the US.

Maybe all that CHEER was just too annoying?

Except that there was no cheering at the time. They were simply going home quietly.

@Petter I know...it was sarcastic.

Might have been caused by one of those annoying cheers. Did they spell something before getting shot?

Read the article. They were simply going home, quietly, and one of them went towards the wrong car, realised her mistake, and went to the correct car.

@Petter I was attempting humor. America is too pathetic for sympathy.
