We as humans want to assign agency to everything Gods and "Luck." If things work out well we can give credit to God or Luck equally. Luckily, the idea of luck, does not have the same concepts associated with religion or deities.

If by luck it is meant as randomness, yes.

"I was lucky" Warren Buffett, on the richest dudes.

Im a great believer in making your own luck. My approach is to leave as few variables as possible so that chance is not the biggest of them.

"It's better to be lucky than good"
Very common quote of us aviators who've survived a war.

Manifestly not. Random happenstance is a bigger factor than most want to admit, as it takes away from their personal brilliance and sense of control. But it's not everything. Even a cynic like myself can see that.

There is no such thing as luck

You could say that it is luck that determines which family you are born into, what talents you are gifted with, how attractive you are, and what your strengths and weaknesses are. However, does someone who worked hard to get something have that something because of luck? You could take other factors into it, for instance, where they are, who they know, and what their natural capacity to work is. Can you say that they were lucky enough to have the resources to reach their goal?

It is an interesting question. I guess it would also depend on how you define luck and what would be considered luck as well.
