Florida law makers pass a bill that would allow the use of a radioactive material to be used as fill in road construction. Currently, the EPA has the material in question banned from use for road making (it was briefly allowed under the trump administration). Not to worry Floridians, its main dangers are to those handling it at a higher risk of cancer (and who the fuck really cares about common laborers anyway) and the possibility that it will leach into the water supply (and again, if you can't afford bottled water, fuck off).
Because the groundwater (salty!) level in Fla is soooo far below the soil level that there is no possibility that leaching could occur, right? Right?
"Yep," I say, the sarcasm dripping from my lips.
