Some powerful stuff here, and truth be told.
Civil Rights leader leaves Dr. Phil & his audience speechless after rejecting the idea of “systemic racism” & reparations.-

I disagree with him on the "spiritual" stuff of course, but Woodson was certainly right about the issue with morals. I also agree with Tate's comment about how in the 1960s welfare programs were incentivized by the progressives which in turn helped to destroy the black family by encouraging unwed black mothers to remain unmarried in order to collect benefits.

I really want to normalize telling people, on the spot, "You are completely full of shit."
No censorship, no recriminations.
Call them out, anytime, anywhere.
If they're lying, say they're lying.

Would be nice, but somehow rather doubt that would catch on on a large scale though.

@SpikeTalon Let's start a trend!

It's the corruption of family law courts.

Courts are given a financial incentive to give custody and the majority of the parenting time to the mother.

Courts are given a percentage of the money fathers pay to mothers in child support.

States are paid by the federal government to imprison the fathers incapable of paying child support.

All of those things should be unconstitutional.

History shows there is and has been a build in bias in the United States against Blacks, Asians and Brown people.
Nixons war on drugs was designed to remove the Black man from the family. Prisons policies and covenants have all worked to keep most Blacks from creating generational wealth.

While there is and has been since the birth of the USA racial prejudice, alot of which directed towards blacks, there are other factors that play a part as well when it comes to (perceived) racial disparities.

Nixon was hardly alone on that, and the war on drugs was indeed designed to negatively impact blacks, but there were politicians who were worse than Nixon was. In 1967 then California Governor Ronald Reagan along with backing from the NRA, supported legislation that could be considered the start of the modern gun control movement, and certainly were the first of that type of laws in the state of California. Gun control laws have their roots in racist policies, and the law AB 1591 (better known as the Mulford Act) was designed to undermine the activist efforts of the Black Panthers, who by the way were right in calling out police brutality and government corruption in general. The Black Panthers were well aware of said corruption and felt the need to defend themselves, but the powers that be weren't comfortable with that and did everything they could to undermine the Panther's activism efforts. That would have been a good example of racial bias, and the consequent laws that were designed to specifically target a minority population. Back then social justice groups like the Panthers realized how important gun rights were, knowing the type of prejudice they were up against, which is a far cry from what we see nowadays from similar social activist groups.-

As for incarceration policies go, that is a problem no doubt, but racial bias there is only the tip of the iceberg. The problem with the modern day criminal justice system is that police forces around the country have become too powerful, and have morphed into a business of the sorts instead of being a force that strictly serves and protects the citizens. State and local police forces have found it quite profitable to be able to charge citizens for every little perceived transgression against society and in particular crimes that of which are victimless, and have taken on the role of punisher instead of reformer. That sort of thing affects all of us, and not just certain populations.

@SpikeTalon We can hash out the back story til the cows come home and I am convinced that trying to education died in the wool racists will never change. The right will glom on to things like CRT to keep their fear alive.

@silverotter11 Valid point I suppose, those who are hateful like that most likely won't change their ways anytime soon. That sort of thing is not exclusive to the right though, and all of my immediate and even extended family members are diehard Democrats who voted for Biden and yet they are some of the most racist people I know unfortunately. Same is true with a number of kids that I went to school with whose parents were also hateful like that and openly Democrat.

Just a few days ago was talking with an uncle who is a lifelong Democrat, and shared with him some posts I did on another site I'm active on, which included posts from a group that's for sharing photos of pin-up models. One of them I had shared was of a black English model by the name of Jasmine Webb, and he proceeded to bash my post calling that particular model an "ugly ni**er", which resulted in me getting resentful and arguing with him. That wouldn't have been the first time I had argued with family members over such, and that incident was nothing in comparison to what I went through the first time I announced my girlfriend at the time was black. After that one, thought my family would never speak to me again. So not all such hatred is exclusive to the right.

@SpikeTalon That's just sad. Now, Black people can be just as racist. I was in CA helping a friend do some remodel work on her house. Actually she and I were the gophers while the guys did the work. On the way to Home Depot I was the only white face to be seen for blocks. We got some pretty ugly looks. I said to my friend, "Seems to work both ways". The big difference is who has the bigger stick. My ex was 20 years old in 1960 and barely had the same rights as white folk.

@SpikeTalon

My daughter is half white and half Aztec. I've dated many black and mostly women of colour. Toured 6 continents and still many people say only whites can be racist.

@silverotter11 That's true, and a number of years ago at my first job out of high school I was on the receiving end of prejudice by three black co-workers.

The civil right leader makes sense to me. The greatest crime related to black families is fatherless children. Black mothers were better off collecting welfare with children than working. And 9 times out of 10, a black murderers in prison had a fatherless childhood.

The federal government has put the same financial incentives in place for all mothers, not just black mothers. I've seen videos of a single mother bragging about how much child support she gets by having 4 babies with 4 different baby daddies. She gets much more than she would by having 4 children by the same father. The government literally puts perverse incentives in place, and the mothers are making rational decisions to maximize their benefits given the perverse incentives.
