I forced to admit that aside from the fries I didn't actually eat there either. But the last time I had even the fries is more than 3 decades.

I haven't eaten at a McDonald in over 30 years. I couldn't tell you what those items cost now but I'm sure nothing is less than a dollar.

@redbai actaully they have about 8 or 9 items on The Dollar Menu, fries, shakes, of course but a couple of burgers too

Depends where you live and which McDonald's you go to in that area... The one by my house has only one item on the $1 $2 $3 Menu that's less than $3: a small fry for $2.70.
If you drive just a few miles down the road away from the freeway exit, the prices already start to drop with the 4 items on the menu dropping by a total of $3.78.
I zoomed out and picked a random McDonald's in Southern Ohio and the prices were even lower at $5.36 less for just the 4 value menu items. That's a giant difference.

@ChestRockfield i have known since childhood that anything near a freeway costs more....gas, sundries, food, whatever as they figure customers are a caprive audience, afraid of straying from the pike and hearing dueling banjos, or whatever.
Locals wouldn't go to any such store unless idiots....oh, wait.......rd state?
