My town of Bourbon, Mo. has an impulsive mayor who likes to tell everyone what to do. Local police are his eyes and ears. The latest thing here is that someone wanted to tear down an old derelict house they owned about 3 blocks from me and the mayor told them they could not tear it down. Think on that a moment. Dopers have a place to make meth but you cannot tear the house down. The owner simply sold it to someone else who burned it. You can always say the dopers caused it. Problem solved. 🙂

The mayor also got involved here at my place 2 years ago when professionals cut my trees. He showed up and told us he could not stop the tree cutting but then told everyone where and how to park and what to do. Is he a Nazi or did he want to be a part of the team?

He decided that our utility bills should be higher after minimum wage went up. We could come to the meeting on this price increase, he said, but nobody went. I think this is because we all knew his mind was made up. I'm no expert in this area and neither is anyone else living in this small town. He will do what he wants to do and most people I talk to cannot wait until he is gone.

Even my next door neighbor is afraid she will be reported over her grass being too high, and it is said you cannot have too many cars or junk in your yard. This might be why my marker to show where the ditch line is was stolen last year by a junk man. Well, surprise, mayor! I made another one and put it back.

This is all a matter of whether one elected man "owns" a community of 1283 people most of whom own their own property.
