It feels like I’m the last person on Earth that hasn’t smoked weed or done edibles. Not that I’m against it, in fact I’m very envious of those that can. I’ve never ever tried it once. In high school and college, none of my friends did it, so I didn’t. After that I’ve always had a job that did drug testing. But now with the widespread legalization in seemingly every state but mine, weed is everywhere Am I really missing out?
I was smoking weed 50 years ago, and there was this culture of secrecy about it. Then, 30 years ago, I quit doing drugs and alcohol. But now that it's legal in my state, I always smoke a little bit before going to sleep.
Whether or not you're missing out depends upon you as an individual. I discovered weed back in the 60's back in my "hippie" days and it was a regular thing for me for several years. I gave it up, along with cigarettes, when I became pregnant in the 70s and didn't start smoking again til around 2000 when I was reintroduced to it by a friend. I was able to get a medical card several years ago, but I don't use it very much. I see it more as a social thing. I really don't like getting high by myself.
What you are missing out on today is that weed might kill you because it was laced with fentanyl or something. As for a gummie, they do nothing for me. Nothing at all. There is no "higher high."
How does the weed that I grow myself get laced with fentanyl? Sounds like you've been watching Fox "news".
@BitFlipper I was not referring to weed you grow yourself and the subject has nothing to do with Fox News.
I just checked the National Institutes for Health website and couldn't find a single article citing contamination of cannabis with fentanyl. They did mention cocaine. The only reliable references I found referred to possible accidental traces of cross contamination where cannabis and fentanyl were produced in the same location.
@DenoPenno every subject is connected to Fox "news". The mistrust in science, and the identity politics are both products of the Fox lie machine.
@BitFlipper OK, but I do not watch Fox News and do not give a damn about Fox News. Why do you think my remarks about dope in any form has to do with Fox News? I do have a dope addicted granddaughter who has even been to the pen because of dope but I don't think that had anything to do with Fox News either. I could be wrong. Let me say that I do not mistrust science and I have no interest in the ignorance of identity politics. Just setting the record straight here.
@DenoPenno Your remarks about drugs and science originate from the right wing echo chamber. Whoever made those impressions on you got them from there.
