At a food pantry Friday I mentioned my foot neuropathy and one of the men there wanted to pray for me claiming god would heal me. I gave him a funny look and said I doubted it because it has never happened before. All of these food pantry people in the area are a bunch of former dopers who suddenly "found Jesus." They delight in looking down at the ground with closed eyes and starting to talk to themselves.
Also, a man I deliver auto parts to has now told me that he and his wife are Pentecostal Christians. Since that is also my background they did not get it when I said "too much bible study" changed my mind on believing. His wife told me they had a "blessed hope" of living forever and then they both went on into the joys of Heaven and how we would all be together with our loved ones in that wonderful place in the sky. It will be so wonderful, they said. I did not tell them what their bible says about Heaven. It has gates and walls and within are streets of gold, etc. This is a pipe dream. They must be keeping people in or out once you get there. Preachers tell you about seeing your family and being with loved ones forever but the bible says you will be singing gods praises forever. That does not leave much time for family. Jesus even said once that in Heaven people do not marry nor are they given in marriage. This leaves a lot of questions but believers just keep believing that preacher. Yes, in Heaven you will have a mansion, they say. A perfect way of getting the attention of the poor.
It seems to me that time as we know it would have to completely stop for this "forever and ever" to become reality. Guess what? I know when time for you completely stops. It is when you are dead.

Guess I'll keep my mouth shut if I go back.

This one is 7 miles from me and was started by a man in prison for drugs. He claimed to have found Jesus and he started this food pantry attracting all of his friends to him. This is why I say they are all former dopers. He also pastors a church that he has connected to the food pantry. They take every word of the bible literally but they also feed the poor and you can have a daily meal there if you like. The town says he is attracting the homeless. I say that the homeless have to eat also.
I've talked to this man before and he knows I am not for Trump. Most of them are. I suspect he knows I am not a believer. My take on what he is doing is good. They get food from St. Louis and give it to the poor or anyone that needs it. They are more "Jesus like" than many today and they have to move that food fast to avoid spoilage. I've got some food there that expires in 2024, and I give what I do not use to my neighbor who has a family and kids.

@Communistbitch Who is a superior atheist? I provide very well for myself. In fact, I'm able to save a thousand dollars a month. The food pantry thing is that they get this donated food and invite you to take it freely. They get so much food that a lot of it has to be thrown away. What I take and do not use I give to my neighbor who has a family and children.
@DenoPenno what are you doing with all the extra cash? We must confiscate it, you don't need it! There are other people who actually need it. Pay up!!!!
@Communistbitch I went again today coz they have to get rid of this food or they end up throwing it away. I guess you missed that part of it. I go once a week. BTW, a lot of food I get goes to my neighbor who has kids. I give it to them free. What do I do with my extra money? I have no extra money but I save a thousand a month.

BTW, I gave my neighbor his free food again today and his family was happy.
