Yes it is idiotic but seeing as most of my friends are staunch christain conservatives I routinely bow my head for their prayers.

Funny,,, I quit bowing my head years ago when people say a prayer. I actually look forward to seeing who else doesn't either. Like a little game to see just how serious they all take it. I've not had anyone notice it and say anything to me about it afterwords. 
That is exactly what I do out of consideration and respect
@richiegtt I think most of my religious friends know I’m not religious as I’ve almost never been asked to lead them in prayer. On the few occasions in the past where I was asked to lead in prayer I just bowed my head and said “much obliged for the food amen”. Needless to say after that I wasn’t asked to lead in prayer again.
