Lord Ganesh is a helluva lot nicer and more respectable than Jehovah!
Looking from the outside, maybe but tons of superstitions, ignorance, customs, traditions come packed with him. The closer you get the more you will go nuts. A lot of Westerners romanticize Eastern cultures just like most Asians dream of living in the U.S. Just like in relationships or knowing people in general, the closer you get, the more turn-offs you see.
@St-Sinner I spent almost a month in India and was interested in Lord G, seeing all the devotions made to him throughout the country. My understanding is that he's a very practical fellow...he'll help you with a voyage or trip....if you've lost something, a prayer to him might lead you to find it....he's always depicted with his friend...a RAT. He once had a normal head but (long myth here) it was cut off and an elephant head happened to be available and.....well..... This has nothing to do with ''romanticizing'' Hindu cultures. It has to do with observations outside religion.
