For me, fascism is quite easy to define. It is a marriage between government and the corporate world. When government represents corporate interest rather than the interest of the people. 20th century didn't really have global corporations but we sure do now which makes it a bit more confusing but still the same; Government for business not people.
Don't be too distracted by party politics or individuals as it is more the whole system becomes fascist. For many countries in the West, we are already there with a globalist twist.

Corporatism, global capitalism and the military industrial machine is irrelevant.
Government is, in essence, an authoritarian system of social management.
Brand's observations of a media outlet's hyperbole is neither here nor there.
What matters is good government and control of power through legislative and judicial determination to provide a framework for social development.

Innocent until proven guilty. Unlike tool bag who pulled a fire alarm to disrupt government business, the classic example of what free speech isn't (can't yell "Fire!" in a crowded theatre, heard that example used before?). Some would class that act as insurrection; disrupting government business. What happened to him? Probably promoted within the DNC.
Yet Santos, who sounds like a scumbag, gets booted from Congress over accusations eg no conviction, no oppourtunity to defend himself in a court of law. A denial of natural justice ie hearing both sides of the story before passing judgement/ punishment. And don't the peasants love it! Cheering loudly.
The rule of law is dead in America.
