A bit of news for tech nerds. A new operating system called Harmony by Huawei will replace their android system. A technological advance. The new system will operate independent of google play, who have been playing silly buggers, assisting the suppression of Huawei at the US's insistence.
Google sucks now anyway and US monopoly on technology in the social media field is peaking or may have peaked already. Chinese are the leaders now, I'll be getting one.
Sanctions backfire again.
Chinese collect data, US spooks collect data. Same shit, different wrappers.

I don't know about this but personally I'm hoping for a purely Linux OS to run on Android phones. Indeed I'd like to have the real choice of a Linux phone. Android is Linux based but pure Google proprietary os. I'm looking to be completely non google and use Linux and open source on everything. Getting there, but alternatives to Android are limited.

Huawei are world leaders in their field. A very interesting company with workers also shareholders. If it works, I will use it. Being an alternative to an American controlled company does make it more appealing. It's the capitalist way and like us and the poms in cricket, they may have invented it, but we mastered it
