That might be a fine sentiment, but those who have power delight in abusing it, kicking down on everyone else as their psychopathic relief of boredom. That, and the malicious ignoring of the challenge to uplift society.

@annewimsey500 I appreciate the perspective of MYOB, but the culture has a long history of bigotry that can only be countered by fair democracy, meaning that gerrymandering and other dirty tricks are countered or prosecuted as illegal; those should be hate crimes. Also, the news media are far from fair and balanced, and the misinformation is both ugly (racist) and dangerous (anti-vax BS). You can't vote if some schmuck has stricken you from the voter rolls.
