Imagine you are an elderly and incapacitated person and at threat of being eliminated by an impending new Law on Euthanasia. You will also have to assume that your relatives want your money.

What advice would you pass on to perhaps a relative or you political representative to ensure that the new law would not allow you to be euthanised?

Please make it something that could be checked upon by an outside protection agency, as yet undefined.

I would welcome the option of a death with dignity when I got too bad....it is So unfair to the train conductor, which is about the only option I can see, since I do not own a gun.
Pills are useless, your body will vomit them up the moment you pass out and you will wake up in the Psych Ward.
Drowning, iffy, as your body Will swim.......Psych Ward for you!
I have already died 2 times in my life and it is perfectly fine, nothing to fear.
The older I get the more painful and treacherous my body is and I find myself thinking why the F am I putting up with this, but only sometimes.
When it becomes an hourly thought I will have made plans that hopefully I can execute...because that IS the problem, once you want OUT you may be unable to walk to/stand in front of a train......
And as far as someone "wanting my money" If i will not be physically (and mentally, pain is a harsh master) miserable anymore, I promise I will not give a rat's ass!!!!!!!!

I recommend a large plastic bag and dry ice wrapped in a rag. Let the dry ice fill the bag with CO2, then place the whole affair over your head. Blackout should ensue quickly.

@racocn8 thank you for that info...I have heard of this method being used with assistance to hold the bag down for the inevitable flailing.....

@annewimsey500 If one is committing suicide, they shouldn't be flailing. One may have enough time to try hyperventilating, but that should only speed up the blackout. I don't think one necessarily needs assistance. The subject should simply try to breath normally. I had one friend who simply parked his car in his garage with the motor running. I've heard of teens who died unintentionally by simply being in a pit with dry ice making fog.

Do you have any link to some more detailed information on the Parliamentary debate around a new act regarding assisted dying and this potential euthanasia ?
