Do you consider everything ever said and done by Albert Einstein to be true and correct? If I were to ask you if you believe in Albert Einstein, would you say yes? That would imply that you believe in everything the man has ever said, done, or been attributed with. Now, if you were to say no, that would mean you don't believe anything the man ever did was true or correct. So, how do you answer if you believe in Albert Einstein?

Perhaps you see where I'm going with this. If not, let me clue you in. Substitute Jesus Christ for Albert Einstein. Do you believe in Jesus?

My point is, these are not simple yes/no questions. If they were, then it would indicate a very simplistic mindset unable to transcend the duality of having only two perspectives.

Einstein was definitely real. I have talked to real people who knew him. I have read (some of) his works. I have studied some of his findings (Physics major). He was not all knowing nor was he always right. He just published the best estimate he had at the time and was open to evidence that changed his views.

Now, consider Spider-Man. Not real, no physical evidence , no actual quotes. Just lots of comic books and movies. Supposed to have super powers.

Which one seems more like Jesus?

certainly depends upon which Jesus but if we are talking about the Christian Jesus then point taken.

When it comes to followers of Jesus, there are many simpletons who imagine that he thus cannot be wrong about anything, but even they don't imagine that people who don't believe in him disagree with everything he said.

With Einstein, I doubt that even his biggest fans would automatically agree with everything he ever said, even if you restrict that to his opinions on physics, while people who reject some of his mathematically broken ideas aren't going to disagree with everything he ever said either.

The only people with a simplistic view of things in the four cases are the ones who have total belief in Jesus, but even they aren't stupid enough to need to be educated by you.

so dualism is only amongst the religious. I see. Almost sounds like a dualistic view, doesn't it?

I do not believe Anyone, Ever, except of course you, has been right about Everything.
What a stupid idea.
As Judge Judy admits, "I was wrong once, in 1957".

as someone who likes to mention they've died multiple times here's a piece of friendly advice, trying living for once.

@Drank_Spear dying Greatly enhances one's zest for life...why not try it?

@annewimsey500 when it comes it comes. I'm not rushing it. Memento Vivere, Memento Mori

How do I know if I believe in Albert Einstein? I'm not sure so let me ask Jesus.

I can tell you what I know about Einstein, I can tell you what I believe about Einstein, I can tell you what I know about the teachings of Einstein, I can tell you with what I understand about the teachings of Einstein, I can tell you about my beliefs on Einstein's teachings, but I don't believe in Einstein. Your question is ambiguous at best.

I believe that a man called Jesus may have lived, but that doesn't make him the son of god.

so you look at Jesus and Einstein in the same no dualistic manner. that's far better than most.

@Drank_Spear you use that word, dualistic, but I don't think it means what you think it means

@foolmeonce you think? Really are you sure you're thinking or is someone else doing it for you?

It's an odd comparison, but I get your point. Why apply a 'yes or no' approach? In other words, a 'black or white' approach leaves no room for greys.

I say 'odd comparison' because it's not the matter of whether you 'believe in' Einstein like you believe in Jesus, is it? What Einstein achieved can be scientificully demonstrated to be fact, while whatever Jesus said or did cannot.

@Ryo1 I agree with your first comment. Now the second I take a bit of disagreement with. One cannot really say what Jesus demonstrated cannot be scientifically proven. You understand to a certain extend quantum physics and science understands it to a point. You will find spiritual beliefs and practices line up with quantum mechanics. Therefore your statement is true, however it may turn out to be proven false in the near future.

@Drank_Spear
I still don't think you can prove what Jesus said or did as a fact simply because unlike Einstein, Jesus didn't leave anything tangible to substantiate his thoughts and actions.

@Ryo1 I agree.

Really what Jesus left behind, and this is what almost all Christians don't get, is Christ consciousness. Christ consciousness is not some scientifically discoverable and provable thing as a whole really. I mean how would one go about proving that? it makes no logical sense. Now there are aspects of it that could be proven and quite frankly have been mostly through quantum physics and our limited understanding of it.

For me I don't care about Jesus, I care about Christ consciousness and a man named Jesus achieved it. That's what Jesus is all about to me. Not any of this religious nonsense.

Furthermore if you study the sciences and study spirituality (not religion) you will find that both line up quite nicely.

@Drank_Spear oh great... a Christian new-ager. what mind rot.

@foolmeonce labels, the weapon of the ignorant.

@Drank_Spear just calling a spade a spade
