Do you consider everything ever said and done by Albert Einstein to be true and correct? If I were to ask you if you believe in Albert Einstein, would you say yes? That would imply that you believe in everything the man has ever said, done, or been attributed with. Now, if you were to say no, that would mean you don't believe anything the man ever did was true or correct. So, how do you answer if you believe in Albert Einstein?
Perhaps you see where I'm going with this. If not, let me clue you in. Substitute Jesus Christ for Albert Einstein. Do you believe in Jesus?
My point is, these are not simple yes/no questions. If they were, then it would indicate a very simplistic mindset unable to transcend the duality of having only two perspectives.
Einstein was definitely real. I have talked to real people who knew him. I have read (some of) his works. I have studied some of his findings (Physics major). He was not all knowing nor was he always right. He just published the best estimate he had at the time and was open to evidence that changed his views.
Now, consider Spider-Man. Not real, no physical evidence , no actual quotes. Just lots of comic books and movies. Supposed to have super powers.
Which one seems more like Jesus?
I do not believe Anyone, Ever, except of course you, has been right about Everything.
What a stupid idea.
As Judge Judy admits, "I was wrong once, in 1957".
@Drank_Spear dying Greatly enhances one's zest for life...why not try it?
I can tell you what I know about Einstein, I can tell you what I believe about Einstein, I can tell you what I know about the teachings of Einstein, I can tell you with what I understand about the teachings of Einstein, I can tell you about my beliefs on Einstein's teachings, but I don't believe in Einstein. Your question is ambiguous at best.
I believe that a man called Jesus may have lived, but that doesn't make him the son of god.
@Drank_Spear you use that word, dualistic, but I don't think it means what you think it means
It's an odd comparison, but I get your point. Why apply a 'yes or no' approach? In other words, a 'black or white' approach leaves no room for greys.
I say 'odd comparison' because it's not the matter of whether you 'believe in' Einstein like you believe in Jesus, is it? What Einstein achieved can be scientificully demonstrated to be fact, while whatever Jesus said or did cannot.
@Drank_Spear
I still don't think you can prove what Jesus said or did as a fact simply because unlike Einstein, Jesus didn't leave anything tangible to substantiate his thoughts and actions.
@Drank_Spear oh great... a Christian new-ager. what mind rot.
@Drank_Spear just calling a spade a spade
