Does anyone have any ideas about why Jack Pedigo can not get into the agnostic site?
Can't seem to get a response to the password not working message send code thing.
He is as computer challenged as I so the KISS principle need to apply.

Sounds like an IQ problem. Sorry, he's on his own.

Are you saying he can't reset his password? Maybe he has a firewall set to high to accept the site as safe.

He never gets a code to reset with.

@silverotter11 yea, the site owner and or moderators suck at running it. They should just turn it over to the community.

Maybe try again after the eclipse

Could be something as simple as caps lock on while entering his password? Or his browsers is remembering a different password from his previous account, so it doesn't jive with his most recent JackJr account?

Does he know how to see his saved passwords from his browser? That always helps me when I've forgotten one, but that wouldn't help if he's already asked for a reset. Could be his email is not accepting emails from this site for the code to reset his password? Too many possible solutions, and likely none of them helpful.

I'm lucky to still have my original account. So, I've not come across this problem myself.

When all else fails, close out and restart the browser? Go into cookies and delete any for Agnostic dot com? I don't know.

He says what happens is he never gets the code to reset his password. BUT you're right about the saved passwords except it may be the wrong e-mail address that is saved and that is why he is not getting the code.
I'll share this info. Thanks

@silverotter11 I imagine that he's checking his spam folder? And is sure which email address he used for this site? For example, I choose not to use my regular email address for my atheist/agnostic/humanist discussion boards, so I use a separate email just for these kind of boards.

(To be honest, I used this special email address for dating sites, for the short time I tried those out. So needless to say, I don't use it for anything else these days except this site, haha!)

I had to create a new profile.

Weren't you a level 9?

@rogerbenham yes, I was!

9

Happened to me twice, no password I ever used ( including the one I had created a week earlier to get in them, and the one saved by Google along with the new email addy which i had to get because it kept saying "email in use"
Sent 3 messages to Admin through @glennlab and others, got crickets.
Now have 3 email addy's & one password that works on here.
Was almost at level 10, now clawed my way up to 7 twice, again, with help from friends on here.....luckily i got the T and pen a long time ago.
I now Never log out of this site as I need 7 more email addys and passwords like a hole in the head, never mind the aggravation.

If you needed more email addresses, and since you're on Android, I'd recommend trying out this app. If for some reason you didn't like or want an address you created, it would be easy to delete, plus I think there's an option to carry existing burner email addresses to a new mobile device if and when the need arises.-
[play.google.com]

@SpikeTalon I have gone 33+ years with 2 email addies...the one shared with the ex, and the one I adopted during the divorce in 2009..
With 3 now, I feel I am all set to increase my income by scamming....any suggestions on how to proceed? I am drawing thing a blank.......

Luckily about the Tee! I was too late as they'd stopped giving them.

Sounds like the same issue I had faced earlier this year when suddenly out of the blue I got thrown out of (and consequently locked out) my account and the site was not registering my password. While I suspect getting one's account flagged (for whatever reasonl) could lead to such an outcome, I still haven't been able to figure out for sure what suddenly causes that sort of thing for seemingly random members on the site?

In order to get around that, I had to start another account, and Jack will most likely have to do the same if he wants to still be able to interact on this site. He could try contacting support at the following email address- agnostic.com@gmail.com

I needed someone from Admin to help with that sort of account issue, and luckily I was able to reach someone at that address who were able to resolve that issue and get me back on my original account.

He already has created a new profile.

Do you know what it is, so we can give him a hand.

@glennlab JackPedigo

@rogerbenham Jackpedigo is his old profile name, probably the one he can't login with. If he has a NEW one, that is what we need to help him advance through the levels.

6

yikes, that seems extreme (to have to create a new profile.). for those long-timers running into this problem, i'm thinking they have also not been able to get in via the phone app?

kmaz Level 7 Apr 6, 2024

He's tried on his tablet and desk top.

@silverotter11

ok. it's a long shot, and i'm no techie, and it sounds like he already created a new profile but i'm wondering if they tried to load the app on a phone and deliberately avoided using wifi so the phone was reliant on its cell phone signal for data, then the login on the app would come from a completely different internet system and might bypass any block that might have been out in jacks system.

Other people that have had similar problems have had to create a new profile, Several of us will help to get him up to a functioning level as quickly as possible.

We've been chatting via facebook messenger, he's very frustrated. I wonder why some have issues abnd other don't.

@silverotter11 I have no idea, but like I said tthere are several of us that will help him reestablish him once he has a new login.

@glennlab I have suspicions that getting one's account flagged for whatever reason might trigger the system to do something like that, of which only someone from Admin's support team could help resolve.

@silverotter11 Likely the difference is in what operating system folks are using, an how current their updates are!?🀨

@SpikeTalon no flags, no scolding messages, no suspensions either of these times......just a Wall...oh, wait was Drump around?

@annewimsey500 I didn't receive any warnings or heads-up either before getting suddenly locked out of my original account.

That's what I suspect, could have been from getting one's account flagged by another, or perhaps it could just be another random glitch... of which there has been no shortage of on this site over the years.

@silverotter11 I think this boils down to a browser problem and the circumstances of how you personally use that browser. Coming back to add to this now, I cannot get my daughter logged in to her within fi network from Spectrum network because she deliberately changed the name to something else and thought it was cute to do this.

@DenoPenno I was wondering if that could play a part in why some are effected and other not.

@Aaron70 Interesting. Linux Mint. So far safe.

7

That sucks. I guess it doesn't hurt to start with the basics: turn the device all the way off for 10 minutes and try logging in again when it restarts, or try logging in from another device. Can't hurt to try before going through the trouble of setting up a new profile. There seems to always be the chance that it will mysteriously work again another day.

Did you have to start again?

@rogerbenham Nope, fingers crossed I'm still on my original account. Did you have to start again?

@Lauren No, I'm safe so far. Maybe because I use Linux.

@rogerbenham It's possible. I would if I could, but my job requires me to work through Chrome. Hopefully we'll both stay under the wire of whatever glitch is eating accounts.

@Lauren Confession!: In '81-'82 I worked on the first computer aided archictural project in western Canada, but a year later having been forced to allow corruption on a project where I was prime consultant, I resigned and quit being a fancy engineer. I had no pay or salary for 30 years until they gave me a pension. In 1999 I ran for the Green Party, was presented with lots of computer stuff but had no idea how to turn it on. However I did buy an Me computer. Hated it. Then Windows 2000 (ntfs?) but after too much confusion in 2004 I switched to Ubuntu and taught myself how to navigate it,

@rogerbenham How cool! It must have been quite frustrating to give up something so exciting. It's a shame they couldn't maintain its integrity. Good for you for jumping into technology - that must have been the early days for Ubuntu. I believe it's more beneficial than dangerous but it does require our constant vigilance.

@Lauren I loved building my first 500 foot office tower though the subsequent two others were largely repetitions, Similarly for my first shopping centre and then doing the preliminary designs for what was at the time the biggest shopping centre in the world. Once you've done one like that the rest are boring. Cancer clinic hositals were complex but again the next is less exciting. I think that there is corruption at all high levels. It's just that I did not want to be involved. I had an oath of office.
Ubuntu indeed was very new. Eventually Microsoft got interested in it and I switched to Linux Mint. Fedora or Archlinux or Red Hat are maybe the best Linux but they are more for geeks, which I am definitely not. From my point of view I like Linux Mint because I can have as many desktops as I like. Usually I opt for 8. So I can have up to 8 programs open accessing to watch at a mouse click. Each shows independantly. All of these are open at the moment. The last not being used and the view being2 miles from my home.

I had to get a new profile, maybe he has to do the same?

He created a new one about a year ago.

@rogerbenham I've seen people having to create more than one profile because of problems like this.

@michelle666gar You're right about that, and I'm also one of them who had to start another account because of such an issue.

@michelle666gar I remember that you had a different profile picture.

@rogerbenham, @SpikeTalon I remember you having to create another profile, I did too and yes I had another profile picture from my original one πŸ˜”

What's the profile link or user name ?
Did he try to contact for support here : [agnostic.com]

Diaco Level 7 Apr 6, 2024

I don't know what support email address such submissions get sent to, and it might be an address that is no longer actively being monitored for new messages? I posted a link above to the email address in which less than a day later I received a response and immediate assistance in resolving the issue with getting locked out of my account.

I did, several times....waited 3 days for a reply....crickets

When did he try last? The site was down for some time in the past….πŸ€”
