"Retrogrades" is very good term for them. If you drill down into what they think, you will find a distorted vision of America that is full of made-up shit about the founders' intention that this be a Christian nation, and Christian ideology including some made-up shit about a fertilized human egg cell being a person, and a cherry-picked selection of patriarchal Old-testament ideas that would not even allow women to vote, much less end an unwanted pregnancy. It's all kind of incoherent but also quite dangerous, because they feel like violence is a legitimate way to achieve their political goals. They wrap themselves in the flag, and at the same time trample the very democratic principles that make this country unique and give it such potential for greatness.
