Lots of things happened to me back on January 11th, 2024 and one of them is that a tree limb fell through my living room ceiling. I have good insurance and they paid me close to $4,000 but I had other ideas. Not wanting to totally re-model, this is a picture of how I fixed the problem. The rest of that money stayed in the bank and I done this repair myself.

A roof works as long as it keeps the rain out. The rest is just decoration for the next generation to inherit.

The picture here is the inside of my living room area without doing a cosmetic re-model that would bring it closer to a restoration. My roof outside is metal like all the metal buildings have. It still did not stop the tree. Up there I had a trusted repairman splice in a new piece of metal roofing and he charged me $175. I'm keeping the rain out and also keeping most of that insurance money as well.
