Some time ago I wrote about seeing an upside US flag in someone’s yard at the home of an obviously wealth inhabitant in the county seat town, Friday Harbor, of our island archipelago. I had thought this was a protest against over the over-hyped patriotic flag symbolism. I was wrong. [yahoo.com]

An upside down flag is a sign of distress. My understanding is it comes from sea faring days as a way for a ship in distress to notify others. Pirates used to do it to attract unsuspecting ships who were then attacked. Here are the Australian protocols.

Maybe the tRump supporters have been convinced this is a time of distress. It is but not what his supporters think but simply because of their total lack of thinking skills.
