Real bit:
Many years ago I was sitting with my very friend Rick, in his apartment.
We were talking and such when suddenly he motioned me to be quiet.
I did not hear anything unusual.
They he yelled to his three boys in the next room, "HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
"Nothing," the small voices responded.
"WELL, CUT IT OUT."
Obviously, sometimes the sound of nothing is a clue that something is happening.
