IDF Ordered Hannibal Directive on October 7 to Prevent Hamas Taking Soldiers Captive
Have to subscribe and it is an Israeli publication so fuck that. But this is the original source and they have evidence; texted orders, emails, sworn witnesses etc. Plenty of others covered this story if you google.
The Hannibal Directive means it is better to die than to be captured and held hostage. So the IDF were ordered to kill all fleeing towards Gaza. They blew up their own personnel on purpose, rather than have them alive but hostage. They killed hostages on purpose, rather than have them be taken as a hostage.
Max Blumenthal from the Grey Zone reported this months ago, but this was investigated by an Israeli paper and they have the proof.
