I am a widowed European born in New Zealand and 84 years old., I was lucky enough to meet a young Chinese woman boarding next door and made friends with her. Within a few days she came and stayed with me. This led to meeting all her friends from China, some of who also stayed. It has been the most interesting experience for me. Teaching English, and pronunciation, was very rewarding. I loved having them stay, I now have 10 new friends from far away..They came and cooked great food, and generally were all able to experience having a home in New Zealand.
