It took a lot of personal responsibility on the part of President Biden to withdraw, but he put the country before himself.

This is something that the Orange One will never do--his vanity and narcissism will never "allow" him to put anything or anyone before his own selfish motives. He has no understanding of responsibility and how to look at the big picture.

This is the legacy of people who are born into inconceivable wealth. They are accountable to no one for the harm they do. Trump is a wart on the ass of humanity. It would not stir empathy in me to see him humbled and broken.

Biden is a good man. I hate to see his political career end in this way, but he has enough character to do what is right for his country. I have the deepest admiration for him.

We are in total agreement.

I hope she chooses an exciting running mate, with intelligent and inspiring speaking skills. I like many on the list of possible choices that have been speculated. I donated to the Harris campaign today and might double that, depending on the running mate choice.

I love the sometimes witty banter we get, as well as the wise decisions in the direction they wish to lead, to keep the race interesting in a positive way. I enjoy being proud of our leaders.

I am curious as to whom the running mate will be, too! I assume that the whole country is, too--even the repubs.

In witnessing the astonishing capacity of people who are smart enough to reject gods, to do 'full immersion' in even greater this-world myths, I must say that this site never disappoints. It's like watching people who do algebra failing at basic math. High comedy!

Is that aimed at Trumpers or Dems?

@Gwen_Wanderer There's a shoe for each foot. Or, hoof that is... Finding an original, independent thought here is like being hit by a drop of water in a sandstorm.

@Silver1wun there are NO original thoughts left . . . none.

@Gwen_Wanderer As a personal testimony, I must confess that I can't disagree.

@Silver1wun when I was in grad school, a prof asked if we are written or do we write?

We are written. I disagree with most of the Bible, but the "Preacher" was right when he said that there is "nothing new under the sun." New generations think that they come up with original ideas, but people who know history know that the "new ideas" are recycled old ideas.

Even communication on the net is only "new" in its format: people have been communicating since time immemorial--only the modes have changed. The topics . . . nope, not changed.

@Gwen_Wanderer Schooling, grad or otherwise, I agree, informs on the bases of what has gone before and I also agree that most 'new ideas' could qualify as recycled old ones. Original, self-sourced insights and ideas can and do occur. They are based on newly discovered (even though perhaps known in former eons, to our kind)

Original thoughts and perspectives might match or approximate original thoughts from others who draw similar conclusions and hypotheses from similar observations, because it is how our minds work - when they work.. So in my context, original means birthed not adopted; influenced not subordinate. Magaism, Presbyterianism, Wokeism, Trumpism, Democrat/Republicanism, Unionism, Communism, even Atheism (as a noun rather than adjective) are partially or entirely adopted, predesigned, preprogrammed for those who embrace them. Cults don't need gods. And, cultists have no need to think for themselves or entertain ideas from those who do.

Our interpretation/definition of history is woefully brief compared to our presence. What matters 'under the sun' is what happens under OUR sun. I visit this place occasionally because it is like a joke about a tour of Heaven I heard many decades ago, wherein newbies were told to be silent while passing a certain door because 'the Catholics were in there and they think they're the only ones up here'..

The principle can be stretched to any of us who are self-procalimed 'original thinkers'. Whether we're doing it from the barn, the corral, the pasture or what we, like I, believe to be open range. We can only be disappointed and limited by discovering and acquiescing to the rightness of fences.

@Silver1wun we will have to agree to disagree as I see the issues as recycled from old issues.

One by product of a post such as this one is letting me know whom I should block--I just blocked three people who responded. One was someone whom I had blocked in my former incarnation on this site but had not encountered him again until now.

Not interested in what Trumpers have to say.

Oh my gosh ,what a sucker LOL

Me or them?

@Gwen_Wanderer Not you. The trump supporters are.

7

If he had any personal responsibility, he would’ve dropped out a long time ago .

Pronouns don't do much to identify who you're talking about.

8

How could one be so naive to actually believe he made this decision.It was his wife and handlers that made the decision,and this was only after relentless badgering from Democratic law makers and donors .I do not believe he would have dropped out if he had not been pressured to do so .

7

Biden’s money donners had shut off the money to his campaign so he had no choice but to resign. Trump will be elected in November and we can start to straighten out the mess created by the crazy democrat agenda!

It’s a simple as that, but these libtards are so delusional and gullible it’s pathetic

I give him huge kudos for doing it now while the Dems might still have a chance. I wish he had done it a year ago; maybe waiting was strategic, but we'll probably never know.

He should have canceled on the debate if he wasn't up for it. Also, he shouldn't have done it with all the conditions Trump imposed as far as lighting and positioning, and no fact-checking. Where were his expert advisors? Plus, the softball questions for Trump screamed bias. Except that all of the mainstream media have revealed their own program of turning what should have been a walk in the park into a horse-race for no reason other than ratings/profit, the welfare of the country be damned.

I agree.

No,I think this is good timing because it gives the left time to exploit the "too old to be president" concept and turn it on the pumpkin

@TheoryNumber3 good point!

If anyone expects Trump to be reasonable and responsible for anything other than himself...they are living in La La Land.

What Trump seems to want is adoration and is willing to destroy your democracy, rewrite the constitution, and remove the freedoms you enjoy to get it. He will proclaim to be the best dictator...um...sorry leader in history. If he can crown himself "King", he will.

And yet his cult sees him sitting at the right hand of god!

He might think he is god.

@Gwen_Wanderer It is obvious he doesn't believe in gods but wants the devotion, attention, and wealth he can get by pretending he is at least a demigod.

@Betty spot on!

@Gwen_Wanderer How I wish I wasn't. 😟

@Betty I totally understand. I have had times when I wished that I were wrong.
