Republican have been cutting government funding for some programs to a point to where they no longer can efficiently function. They then claim government doesn't work and insist that privatization is the only solution, instead of properly funding the programs to function well. Pretty much every government agency or program that has been privatized ends up costing more and has a reduced service and efficiency. The reason why they want to privatize everything is because the rich see all that government money flowing, and it drives them nuts because they want to get a cut of that tax payer money, and republicans are happy to help them do just that.
