Josh Shapiro or Andy Bashear?

Will Kamala Harris make the same mistake of Al Gore picking Joe Liberman and sinking the campaign in anti-Democrat votes like it happened in 2000? Josh Shapiro pick will do that IMO. Don't like the truth? So be ready to face defeat in November just like in 2016.

People are still talking about terrible VP choices of Liberman and Sara Palin that sank campaigns. Dan Quayle was an exception just because of our lackluster Michael Dukakis.

Regardless of Kamala's eventual VP pick, I know who I'm voting for. And it ain't the orange turd.

Josh Shapiro is a wonderful governor. We love him here in PA, a swing state. He is nothing like the cognitively challenged turncoat Joe Lieberman!

I am talking about choosing a Jewish candidate that would rile the entire South and lose the entire vote sitting on the fence. He could the Mother Theresa but may prove to be a self inflicting wound

My recollection of Lieberman was that he was a raving moralist. Of course so was Tipper Gore. Danzig wrote a song about her:

Lieberman (DINO):

Ummm… here’s a newsflash. Kamala Harris’s husband is Jewish so shouldn’t you be unnecessarily worried about that too?

@Organist1 has made a distinction between Lieberman and Josh Shapiro. I hope Kamala chooses well and if it’s Shapiro so be it.

@Scott321

There is nothing that can be done about Kamala Harris Jewish husband but she has a choice not to damage the ticket further.

I am not just worried about she picking Shapiro but feel sure she will lose like Al Gore did.

There are some politically incorrect things people don't want to talk about but here you go. I have said it and am saying it again:

~ Al Gore lost because of Liberman and own arrogance and overconfidence

~ Hillary was a bad candidate, she called people "deplorables", that did a huge damage, Wikileaks dug her dirt of lost emails out and her campaign had no strategy to put out the fires

~ The white anger against Obama, a black man's presidency was real in 2016. That was a big contributing factor to Trump's win in 2016

~ Saying it again. Many here argued against it but Biden was a lousy candidate from the start, his Parkinson-like symptoms were evident in the U.S. and in Europe on camera, the media reported it, we were seeing it on TV but we were in denial. People did not admit it until wobbling Joe proved on camera to the world during the debate with Trump

@St-Sinner
WTF?

@St-Sinner

Few people realize Hillary talked about TWO baskets. She was right to label one as deplorables. She has become even more correct now in terms of people who still support him. I am probably one of the few people on Earth who understood what Hillary meant.

Lieberman may have helped Gore attract conservative moralizing centrist DINOs. Ralph Nader was a factor in Gore’s loss. So was the aftermath in South Florida over Elian Gonzalez with Cuban voters in a state with very tight margins.

Arguably Shapiro could help Harris with some Jewish voters who might be put off by a perception Harris might not be so supportive as Biden of Israel’s operations in Gaza. Many might already think Biden’s too wishy washy.

On the other hand, Shapiro could be more divisive with progressive voters given his stances toward BDS (who I have reservations about given they mostly prefer a one state solution, but I support their right to boycott) and how to define antisemitism (which if couched in certain ways includes legitimate criticism of Israel).

This is a well thought out critique of Shapiro as a VP nominee from the latter angles:
