A very good analysis of what the doping "scandal" at Paris is about. And some consequences if US politicians do not shut their mouths, threatening WADA and the IOC. Things like losing certain planned future events.
Australia has nothing to be proud about either.

US manage to keep Russia out of the Olympics for the last four games.

US is jealous and sore lossers.. another area they are in the decline.

I find Australia worse which is not good. Be nice to cheer on your compatriots, but the way they carry on, especially swimming, they have not earned support

@puff

Interesting video.

I agree, it’s a pity as Australia has some talented sports people who would gain respect purely on the basis of their achievements.

I wonder if the Commonwealth Games will continue for much longer. My mate in Melbourne was happy that the event was cancelled there, he thought it was a waste of his tax dollars.

I see that it might be held in Malaysia. NZ has supported that, probably only because that commitment is not costing them anything.😂

@Zealandia There seems to be far too much sport nowadays and very controlled. The important thing about the Olympics was the Olympic ideal, which seems to have been forgotten.
Allowing the US basketball team, or any team for that matter, stay outside the Olympic village is BS. All athletes should have the same beds and food available to them. Same climate controls in their rooms ie an equal playing field.
Is the commonwealth games still a thing?

@puff it appears that all the basketball teams in the finals are staying in hotels. Closer to the venue apparently.

I agree, same facilities for all athletes. And the ideal went out the window a while ago. I thought having no climate control was a bit too extreme.

The Commonwealth Games are pretty much heading into oblivion. Not relevant anymore. Looking around, it seems that Glasgow is thinking of hosting it again, the city held it in 2014. The Scots have clearly been eating too many fried Mars Bars and aren’t thinking straight. Even if you have all the facilities already, it’s still pretty expensive to host.

Next one is supposed to be in ‘26, so running out of time. I think it’s very likely it will be DOA. No one seems to be bothered, only athletes who like to compete.

@Zealandia I very much doubt there will be an Olympics held in Los Angles in 2028, let alone Brisbane in 2032.
ASEAN games are growing though, says it all really. It's shaping up to be their century.
