Well the old “statistically it’s safer to fly” argument never worked with me anyhow. It is a very broad use of statistics. By this I mean it doesn’t take into account how many car accidents occur while people are driving at night, during inclement weather, while intoxicated, while speeding, etc…..‍
Now if you’re like me and don’t go out during inclement weather, rarely drive at night, and don’t drink or speed. Then you are far less likely to be involved in an automobile accident?!
In short, I don’t necessarily believe air travel is safer for everybody…..
