Most of the Bible, certainly the OT, and possibly most of the NT, is simply political propaganda, with the same mixture of lies seeded with truths and half truths, the same appeals to emotional nationalism, and the same justifications for willful ignorance, which you find in political propaganda today.
What is strange, is that for some reason, many think that political propaganda could not have existed in the late Bronze Age.
It always amazes me when media does a big announcement that some archaeologists find something around Jerusalem that proves the Bible. There is no doubt that parts of the Bible are based on facts of some kind. That doesn’t make the Bible any more of a history book than The Odessy is a non fiction tale of Greek history, even though some of the locations mentioned are actual places.
