In one state, Nebraska one can be summoned to work at a polling station. I volunteered for one in my area (Seattle) for 5 years and learned a lot about this process. I also learned (and a Seattle Times journalist agreed) the average voter is a nit wick.

Educate her/him!

Good luck with that. We just received our voters pamphlet and is massive. One one initiative alone were some dozen pages. Reading through all this with so many double negatives was daunting. I take the time because I have the time. Most do not and just wing it to the detriment of us all.
