Mom moved to another country . Some thirty years ago , or so , she started calling me , by my cousins' names . Eventually , I realized she most likely had Alzheimers . Since she lived so far away , I didn't see her frequently , so seemed to notice the changes more than those who saw her daily . To the best of my knowledge , there are no current cures . However , there are pills available , which can slow the progress of this long term , incurable disease . I also think there may be a family genetic element to this disease . If you seem to have a problem with remembering things , go to your own doctor and be tested , and if needed take the pills .

my grandmother went through all the family names to get to mine but was still capacitous just a bit throughother from old age - If she lieve sin another country and isnt used to seeing you so much oyu might just be the one she doesnt remember so well and she may have other strengths that you don't identify because you are so far apart.

At first , it seemed it was just occasionally , and I was the only one she mistook . Later , she called my daughters the same names . The last time I saw her , before she died , I stayed in their apartment with them , and when her husband was about to say something to her about me , he would start by saying , "Your daughter, Georgann ......" I was there for about 10 days , and not once during that visit did she give me any name at all . I truly believe she had no clue who I was .

@Cast1es Really sorry to hear that I hope that you are coping and yes if I need them I will take those pills thanks for that
