Show me your furry child who melts your heart!
This is my little buddy....his ears! those feet/hands! his whiskers!
He lives free roam in my bedroom and is the best little cuddle buddy.
He is a rescue that stumbled into my life the same week I lost my 18 year old doggie daughter last year.

So, what furry friend makes you go "awwwwww...."

He's cool, but tell me, if he has free rome of your room, where does he go to the loo? I would love to have the same but don't want the mess. We have a hamster and the thing poos everywhere and wees while she's on the wheel! Disgusting creature!

Ratties are easily litter trained. He has a litter box and cake pan with a "pee rock" in it. He's very clean and tidy. He has the bed, two windowsills, two nightstands, and the long "catwalk" I made him down the side of the room.

@SkotlandSkye so he has no cage at all? That's really cool. Do you let him out of the room?

@smoyle no cage at all. I don't believe in cages for any animal...if you have to cage them, they aren't really your companion but just a zoo animal. Anyhow, ratties have bad eyesight AND he's missing an eye from his earlier trauma. So, he's happy to live in his "sky city" of the bed, two windowsills, 2 nightstand, and "runway". A ratties two main goals in life are to find food and a safe place to sleep. Since he has both of those in his "city", he's happy to hang out. We do field trips in my truck to different places and he also loves to go out into the yard under close supervision (any strange noise sends him scurrying back to me for protection). He also hangs out in my office while I'm working...he has a recliner chair that he hangs out on. 🙂

@SkotlandSkye ahh, sounds perfect. I'm with you on the cage thing. We had two guinea pigs about 10 years ago, when we looked at cages for 2 I nearly cried! We got them a rabbit hutch instead but that was way too small as well so I built them an enclosure in the garden which is where they lived. The hutch was nothing more than a bedroom. The hamster's in a cage though, 3 tiers with some tubes, if we let her roam free it'll be the last time we see her. Apart from all the poo that is! I wish I had a recliner chair, your rat lives better than I do!

These are my beautiful kitty girls. I also have two guinea pigs. The cats leave them alone.
