Which type of behavior makes you to literally stop dating / dealing with a person...and to run away as fast as possible?
I recently was invited to a friend's birthday and one of his guests was a former co-worker. Needless to say, I approached him and we started to talk about past experiences in our field of work. He used grandiloquent words and made a point in letting me know his dismissal from his job was the other teachers' fault...all of the them. To crown his performance he -rather rudely- pushed the family dog away.

I went to the restroom and never spoke to him again.

I think you did the right thing. Anyone who hurts an animal is someone you do not want to deal with.

I was a party on Derby day where a married couple ( very religious, if that matters) arrived both snot slinging almost puking drunk,, ( yes they DROVE there) with a most beautiful dog. My hosts claimed this man was a " dog whisperer" . Well,my ass, this lout was far from whispering, he was scaring the crap out of an obviously abused dog ( and wife). It went down hill fast after I sat with said dog, and actually got connected. I have 3 dogs and 4 cats, all around 10 yrs old. It was all I could do to not give that lout a love tap on the schnozz a few times that night. With feeeling.
Sorry if I drifted off topic a bit.

Consistant drunkeness and abuse when under that influence.

I don't condone any abuse...be the person drunk or sober.

Well, I didn't think this topic would get so many comments. Thanks.

Lots of kind animal lovers on this site! My kinda people.

@mtnhome If I get a house again the first thing I will get are a dog and a cat.... babies that will grow up together w/o fighting.

I watch carefully for people's kindness towards animals. ALL animals... including humans. Lack of kindness, respect and compassion for all animals is a huge turn-off. I find some VERY religious bible-oriented people have no respect whatsoever for animals. They tell me the bible says that's OK because animals are here solely to serve man and that animals don't feel pain or experience emotional distress. Uh-huh. 😟

I had a woman say we wouldn't be a good match because I was to intelligent for her to deal with? Still can't understand why she said that, an,"I don't think it will work", would've been fine with me. Possible that because she was into spirit guides , laying of the hands healing and other woo-woo nonsense she couldn't defend herself.

Any behavior which is egocentrically manipulative or senselessly controlling and/or mean spirited

To be sung to The 12 Days of Christmas.

On my 12 worst dates, love not meant to be. He was:

  1. Mean or abusive.
  2. Wanted s-x now.
  3. Shy and tongue-tied.
  4. Liar Liar Liar.
  5. Nasty teeth and breath.
  6. Fat and flabby men!

Not a match when a man behaves this way:

  1. Rude to others.
  2. Highly self-absorbed.
  3. Dumb as a post.
  4. Loves Orange Sphincter.
  5. Refuses to listen.
  6. Older than he said.

Loudly: Our love was not meant to be!

When he pushed the dog would have done it for me as well..his rambling on about his achievements just shows he's a bore..

To me he was a sociopath.

He was not blabbing about his achievements but about he was done wrong by the others. Whilst I can tolerate a narcissist for about three minutes...I don't have a second for a self made victim.

@DUCHESSA ..Still makes him a narcissistic boorish dolt..lol

@Charlene Indeed...AND HE IS NOT EVEN ATTRACTIVE.........LOL

@DUCHESSA they're the Worst..lol

5

On a first date talking how bad their life was with an ex, makes me want to go to the restroom and jump out the window and run.

6

People who are close
minded in general are impossible.
Liars are also the type you simply
cannot manage.

3

Did you stay in the rest room for the rest of the birthday party?

I guess you don't know a piff about me. LOL I made sure he saw me talking to other people and avoiding him.
Now, as a funny questioner.....you didn't succeed.

@DUCHESSA Oh Duchessa, how can you say that. I hope you had a lovely time regardless of him.

@Jolanta Sure, I always do....
BTW, I only spent 5 mins. with him.

Was the dog doing anything like jumping on him? I've been to places where animals were not trained at all. I don't like dogs jumping up on me, especially from behind.

The dog, jumping or not was not the point..........his rudeness was.

See, I don't like my neighbor but I don't shove him against the wall.

@DUCHESSA Hmmm. I don't have much respect for people who don't train their pets. It's easy to train a dog not to jump on people. People who do not manage their pets are inconsiderate.

@GuyKeith Besides the fact you are assuming....SINCE THE DOG ONLY WALKED BY AND HE APPROACHED US BECAUSE I CALLED HIS NAME....a normal person who doesn't like dogs keeps him/hersel away from them. The dog was merely a puppy.

Now, if you answer with the sole purposes to prolong the debate....well, I thank you; you are getting me close to my T shirt.🙂

@DUCHESSA I was assuming because you did not initially address whether or not the dog was jumping. Also, please don't shout at me or lecture me. Due to the limited information you gave about the dog's behavior, I was force to interpolate.

@GuyKeith REGATRDLESS OF THE PUPPY'S BEHAVIOR....which was normal....this person was out of line, pissed me off and I let him talking to himself. If you don't like how I express myself you always can block me. So long, good byw, farewell

As soon as I find a lady has lied about things I'm DONE. Unfortunately it's rampant on dating sites. I have no tolerance for lies. Old photos presented as current are a close 2nd. I want to see how HONEST a lady is, not what she looked like 8-years ago.

5

Rudeness will not be tolerated and cruelty will be confronted. Bragging gets the cold shoulder and self pity gets ignored but none of those behaviors will be tolerated in my home.

5

Pushing the dog - nasty thing to do. Hope they never invite him over again. People only get one chance to abuse my pets or child

I read you 100%...PETS ARE SACRED.

@DUCHESSA Indeed! The guy next door has a sign that reads "If you don't like my cat, you can leave."

He is a friend of my friend; that party was the first time I saw him in seven years. I always took him as a toxic person.

@DUCHESSA That can be an awkward situation - been there, done that more than once. Maybe, one day, I'll tell you about the friend who locked herself in the bathroom then started singing very loudly. Only bathroom, large party. I'm sure you can guess how awkward that became.

@pixiedust lol....DARLING, I went to the bathroom but i DIDN'T HAVE DIARRHEA....LOL

7

Yep someone who is dismissive or cruel to animals or only talks about themselves..sets alarm bells ringing....

7

I have no patience for racist comments and other forms of unkindness.

UUNJ Level 8 May 13, 2018

BTW, he didn't make any racist comment

I wonder if this former co-worker is a sociopath.
