Isn't it about time that humans outgrew the antiquated ideas surrounding religion and monarchy. The very idea that there is an angry old man in the sky who chooses one person to rule over the rest of us by divine decree is just inane.

This is a tricky issue. More than once, I've argued against allowing homeless to set up camps on major streets. We have more than a few of them here and, were I a store-owner, I'd be livid at the smell of urine, the litter and the panhandling...all of which will drive away business when the homeless are literally living in your doorway.

Honestly, if you were having your wedding at a lovely, historic spot....would you want your guests fending their way through the stench of urine laid down by people panhandling?

Please understand that I'm a flaming liberal--and I don't want homeless on the streets AT ALL! I want them working, living in small homes, with good hygiene and medical care. I just don't want them literally on my doorstep or on anyone else's, for that matter.

The Tory argument is that there are no funds available to address the homelessness problem in the UK, a problem that has been exacerbated by their policies and yet they can seem to find the funds to roust out the homeless and spend million$ on the pomp and circumstance for a Royal Wedding. Bear in mind that the Royal Family could quite easily for the wedding out of their own pockets but choose not to.

@Surfpirate Much like the argument against that massive military parade that the treasonous groper wants to see in Washington. Symbols are pleasing to leadership. They give the impression that leadership is doing something good ''for the people.''
