The Guardian is my daily go-to (esp. as an ex-Brit) and this piece is very much worth reading.

The Mueller investigation, which can lead only to exoneration or impeachment and relies entirely on a vote by lawmakers (currently a Republican majority). The Stormy Daniels case, however, is opening up a can of worms that day by day is showing the self-serving wheeling and dealing of Michael Cohen and, with that those of his erstwhile boss, The Donald, in an increasingly a very bad light.

The hushmoney-for-a-pornstar and the rest of the sordid machinations, intended first and foremost to line the pockets of Cohen and Trump, which attorney Michael Avenatti is bringing into the headlines, is something that even Trump's base can understand. The FBI investigation, by contrast is a slow, steady process whose wheels, even if grinding exceeding fine, grind exceeding slow, and require a dedicated political interest to persevere across the months (now a year).

Avenatti, I believe, is correct in his prediction that the dirt being uncovered as a result of his client's case will bring down the current occupant of the White House - and before the year's end IMHO.

Yes, follow the money will always tells more of the story. With every day that goes by Cohens business dealings with selling opportunity to the White House is a much more of an interesting investigation now. If a timeline is ever developed between Cohens dealings and the Trump Administrations will be much more damaging than the Russia inquiry, IMO. If Cohen ever flips....watch out.

Hahaha,,, seriously? Did you read the article? Nothing there says they have, or will find something to impeach Mr. T with. The democrats will pull anything and everything they can find out or their intergluteal clefts that they think will be useful in the fight.. It use to be amusing, now it's just sad..

The veritable storm of news reports that indicate a real connection between the Trump campaign (and, apparently, the Trump White House) with Russians close to Putin tells a very different story. Given that it takes a two-thirds Senate majority to impeach a president, The Donald is probably safe on that score - unless and until he no longer serves the Republicans in advancing their economic agenda (and that of the billionaire, led by the Koch brothers, they seem to serve). However, the ongoing - and no doubt, upcoming - revelations of sleaze and money-grubbing presented almost daily by Michael Avenatti look to open various cans of worms that will reveal the extent of self-serving and frankly illegal activities by Cohen and Trump. I give him until the end of the year before he's forced to stand down - and I think I'm being generous.
