An interesting take (I love God @TheTweetOfGod), but I don't believe the historical Jesus either believed or claimed to have been born of a virgin. I believe that was a later fiction probably concocted to either beef up the claims of his biographers that he was divine, or to whitewash his illegitimate birth, or most likely, both.

@icolan I obviously disagree about whether Jesus was a real, historical person, but agree that's another debate, and so I'll open a thread on the topic rather than further derail this one. You, of course, are cordially invited to take part. 🙂

@WTSharpe, @icolan, here's the true story. Like many things in the bible it was stolen from history.
