Alone, and just a little lonely this Saturday evening, here with my best little buddy, Beau the Wonderbeagle.
He's asleep, and so I let lie.

I've seen every single old movie TCM has scheduled tonight, too many times to watch em again...and am having a hard time distracting myself right now.
Even C-Span's BookTV--which I normally love--is a little boring to me right now...and almost everything else on T.V. is, as usual, totally worthless...
200 + channels and nothing on...
It really is a "vast wasteland"--and I suppose it explains the idiocy that's gotten U.S. Trump.

I'm a little blue--reflective, and slightly sad this evening, after attending funeral services for a wonderful woman, friend, and Grand Old Southern Lady earlier this afternoon.
She was 93 years young--sharp and spry till the end--and will be missed by ALL who knew her--Or at least by those who have ANY clue, and/or give a damn about Wit, Wisdom, Kindness, Gentility, Beauty, Truth, Love, and other such quaint, underappreciated, and apparently fast fading qualities.

But nevertheless, I'm STILL HERE--though alone again--and wishing I had the affectionate, intelligent and just plain FUN companionship I so long for...to talk and cut up with; to play around, and sing and dance, and make laughter, memories, and love with--and to help, and to help me; and to again join with in love living this beautiful, wonderful, and fastly fleeting life.

It sounds as if your grief for your friend is weighing you down a bit at the moment. It is always hard losing friends, especially when you don't seem to be making many new ones at the moment. Things can change quickly though. You seem like a nice person - make usre you put yourself where other nice people can meet you!

My deepest sympathy for the pain that the loss of your friend is causing you. Treat yourself with kindness as you grieve.

Think about all the good things that are and have been in your life. Be grateful of what you have. Friends come and go but at least you had the fortune to be with people who you loved and who loved you.

Um..you're a guy.
It's up to you to make a call and ask someone out.

Attend a community group of your interest; ballroom dance, kayaking, hiking, birdwatching, jamming on acoustical instruments, etc. You might meet someone there.

Volunteer to help clean up a local park or national park trail, etc.
