Love Victoria and took my new partner on our honeymoon there. Often, in the evening, I can see the sky lit up from Victoria (it is due West of me). However, they still have the problem with dumping raw sewage into the Salish Sea. They really need to clean up their act. If the capital can't get this right who can?

They do the same thing in Bermuda, the pipe empties 2 miles out from the main tourist beaches off of Elbow Beach, you can see the seagulls circling. Although for me personally, I would be more worried about the radioactive isotopes drifting over from Fukashima, Japan and pouring into the Pacific from the Columbia River, organic waste decomposes a lot faster than radioactive waste. I stopped eating Pacific seafood years ago, as soon as I found out about it.

Yay! Monday off. (unfortunately there's a typo, tuque (not toque) but hey it's a holiday! relax and be merry)

Being an Anglo from Toronto I always spelled it TOUQUE but my Montrealer wife insists that I am wrong (what a surprise there) and that TUQUE is the proper spelling.
According to the CBC TOQUE, TUQUE and TOUQUE are all used for the knit cap we all know and love in the Great White North, it just depends upon which part of the country you live in, EH!

Although they may misspelled TOKE as well. 😉

@Surfpirate nice to know that but when you pronounce it French, the only spelling that is accurate is Tuque. But hey!

@Lukian Vive la Difference. 👍

It's nice up there. There air feels and smells different. You even feel high. It's amazing how we can visit them and feel at home.

Probably because we were both part of British North America until a couple of centuries ago, so when Americans come to visit we treat them like the cousins they are.

@Surfpirate. Thats so cool.
