There is an online course some may be interested in offered by 'Realize Media'-on a sliding scale. Lectures by Stephen Batchelor-the author of 'Confessions of a Buddhist Atheist'. A fav book of mine and he is very interesting. He teaches the practice aspect of Buddhism as opposed to the religious aspect ,which he rejected after decades as monk and translator of sacred sutras.
I also enjoyed that book several years ago. Thanks for the link. However, this course was offered in late 2016 and while the registration is still open, it still is saying it's going to be offered in November 2016. I would have to know when it is to be offered before I would put down a few hundred bucks on it. And even then ... the price is steep, over on top of setting side the time and energy for it.
I find this typical of Buddhist offerings, I had the same problem locally. There's a Tibetan Buddhist temple here, and they advertise beginner meditation the first Friday of every month. Except every time you go, the monks are on retreat or it's off for the summer or the phase of the moon is wrong or something. So after three tries I gave up. And I'm glad they are not attached to the particular outcome of me ever believing anything on their web site again!
Update: Ah! Here is a current link: [realizemedia.org] The next course is in June.
