It's taking a while. I can't quite say I'd call my deconversion "traumatic", but the idea that it fringes into being an serious issue for mental health, is something I have at least a basic experience with—though, fortunately not a severe experience with.
Yes, I did. Fortunately, I have a couple of friends who were atheist already and were a good sounding board for me. I was unwinding for years but it took over 2 years of reading a great deal of books and listening to Sam Harris, Dan Barker, and Matt Dillahunty (amongst others) to finally leave my faith.
