Have you ever wondered about what terrible shots those stormtroopers were. It was the same in the A Team... people spraying machine gun fire around and nobody gets killed. People rolling cars in huge crashes and simply getting out and rubbing their heads?
Is this a sustainable message to be putting out there - what do you think?
Yes.. I think I wrote a blog on it once...large highly trained well funded and highly motivated troops such as the mythical Imperial Storm Troopers & real WWII Storm Troops such as the Regular German Infantry (Whermacht) or their even more elite and dedicated SS Waffan Troops, were brilliantly skilled in the art of war, and lets be honest, killing.
Except when being dramatized in a movie, where the heros, a.k.a the underdogs..massively out-gunned and out-numbered, invariably seem to have an innate ability to dodge bullets (or lazers).
This is the great equaliser of Drama, lady Luck always smiles on the hero's and underdogs..as if to make them by all other fair standards immortal........same goes for real life...
I can't believe I'm going to defend Imperial stormtroopers but...ya. The blast points thing? That was a prepared ambush using crew served weapons firing from prepared positions. Rounds fired per hit? Most of the other engagements in the movies are firefights - everybody moving around to get an advantage and firing as often as possible in the general direction of the enemy to keep the other guy's head down. Spray & pray's been used ever since soldiers, er, stormtroopers, started using semi-autos. And remember who won at Hoth.
As to stuff like A-Team, I'm pretty sure those are windows to other universes, or like live action Roadrunner cartoons. Either way nothing to be concerned about, just enjoy the absurdity.
If stormtroopers were excellent marksmen then the Star Wars movies would be very short and rather sad as we watched the heroes and heroines shot to bits and dying.
??..I'm a star wars fans....thanks for the laugh.
The storm troopers wore tupperware armour and we laughed out loud when Star Wars premiered in the movie theaters! It was lame.
Main reason I quit watching tv or seeing many films.
Petite killing machine able to outrun machine gun fire and explosions while firing full auto from both hands at once.
Uh huh.
Too much reality makes that leap from sensibility impossible for me.
