This was a spoof letter, a parody. It is not a real letter. I know that some extremists might hold this opinion, but they are a minority.

And here I was fantasizing, just a little, about living in Alaska, where I'd heard that people are more willing to judge you by your actual current actions than by your past sins or beliefs, on account of they may need to rely on you at some point for their very lives. But here's an asshat in suburban Anchorage willing to judge me by my beliefs even if I've never harmed a fly.
Sometimes I wonder if I don't get to keep just one or two small harmless illusions as my very own, but then stuff like this keeps happening ...
Judge not lest thou be judged. I think the articles author should read the book she claims to represent.
