I make tea from the wild rose hip (bud)🙂

The rosehips are filled with seeds. We used to pop them open, them put them doown the back of our friends' shirts. My mother made rosehip jelly whe there were a lot of them.

Very nice. Rosa Rugosa. They grow wild at some beaches. I had some by the barn. White and pink. They make almost impenetrable hedges.

Wow... that's new for me on what i thought Rose's looked like.... I need to be educated on design.

This is what roses originally looked like, (as far as science can tell).
Presumably a mutation happened, in which the rose had multi layers of petals, of course some human noticed and kept that trait going. (And further experimentation created further varieties)

@njoy_life_2 thanks

oh, i love them! they remind me of the little north sea islands off the coast of my former german home.

I was amazed how they grew on the coast of Maine. So hardy and versatile

@btroje, it seems they actually prefer the rougher weather conditions.

@walklightly You can find Rugosa roses thriving along the beaches of Norway and Denmark.

regular bees don't bother me. THe Africanized ones scare me though. I havent met any but I have friends and their dogs that have survived those attacks. Very scary
