Any one else here a Preacher’s kid?
I’m an ordained minister, I became one one day when I was pissed off at ministers buying bass guitars for their flock tax free when I knew they were not really all for the church. They act as if the title itself is worthy of respect so I went on line and became a card carrying minister with the universal life church just to prove all that’s really required to be a minister is $50, it’s official and I could register it at the court house and marry people and or perform whatever religious cetomony I choose and it’s all legal, but I don’t because I’m not a hypocrite.
I am. I am the middle child of 5 and the only one who didn't follow in my dad's footsteps. Both older brothers are now preachers, lil sister is graduating Church of the Highlands college and lil brother has one more year in high school and then he will be attending the same college.
I am the rebel of the family. Whiskey drinking secular rapping one deep man who doesn't give a fuck about Jesus' bull shit.
I have given up talking to them about it. The dishonesty is too hard to ignore once you've opened your mind. It takes an incredible amount of intellectual dishonesty to argue on behalf of religion.
No, although I have a year of Bible Institute under my belt, I never felt "the call" and so did not complete my studies. I knew plenty of PKs, though. Even dated one briefly. Some of them lived up to the supercilious billing, others were decent people (although in retrospect, I'm kind of glad things didn't work out between me and my girlfriend, I don't think I would have passed muster with her father, who doubtless had to be very concerned about Appearances).
