I am actually angry tonight. I have had a few days where I have felt invisible. I am somebody who people would like to meet, yet I am still alone. How do you handle this?

Keep on reaching out. And continue taking care of yourself. These are things I have to keep reminding myself.

Who are you angry at ? Are you unhappy being alone, or would you rather be with people ?

I often WANT to be invisible, and I'm quite good at it. At other times when I decide to mingle, I do. I talk, I laugh, I converse. Then I happily retreat again to recover !

And then there's acting - becoming someone else, and living other lives is an ultimate for me !

Sometimes alone is good. Just be true to yourself and the people you resonate with will be attracted to you.

I handle my own situation by deriving the pleasure I can from what human contact I do have in my life. I also pay a lot more attention to the dogs and cats than I used to.

Good advice. Thank you!

You can check online for local meet ups, join community groups that do things you also enjoy, such as dancing, volunteer to help clean up a park or repair a national park trail.

Facebook is launching a new dating/meet up app that lets members of like interests meet at local events, etc.

Probably go where there are more people with common interests, I live far away from large populations, so I know that is part of my problem.

I am sorry that you feel alone. I can understand that you feel invisible, women of a certain age often do. I am sure that there are load of people who would like to meet you but perhaps they feel invisible too. Unfortunately men do not seem to have mirrors at their places of abode, many of them still imagine that they are in their 20s, they don't see the stomach, their bad teeth, their dirty trousers....and then they hope that some young thing will find them attractive. Oh, that is a rant. Well how to get over this for you. Think of all that is great about you, I am sure that there is plenty. Look after yourself and believe that you are worthy of someone nice in your life.

Thank you. You helped me to feel better.
